Deploying IIS on Windows 7  
Windows 7 OS comes with IIS pre-installed. However, it is not deployed on your machine by default and you need to enable it via admin panel. We outline step by step process that you can follow in order to enable your IIS 7.0 on your computer.

Process does require you to be administrator on the computer or at least user account with administrative rights. IIS services is a big addition to your existing apps and has some serious security implications when enabled. This is main reason why IIS is not enabled by default and this is the reason you need full administrative rights to enabled it on Windows 7 computer.

Step #1

Navigate to Control Panel -> All Control Panel Items -> Programs and Features and click on "Turn Windows features on or off". See screenshot below for details.

Enable Services required by your application. There are two services enabled by default such as World Wide Web, Web Management Tool. There is another disabled service called FTP which you may enable if required. See screenshot below for details.

Finally, Windows 7 takes care of installation process for you and all you see is windows confirmation message and a progress bar that tells you how you installation is progressing. Here another screenshot of this status page.
